Cycle tours around the Königgut.

Travelling by bike in Salzburger Land.

Here we present a wide variety of cycle tours that you can complete around our Hotel Königgut by mountain bike or e-bike. All routes have been personally scouted, travelled and put together by our boss Johann junior. We very much hope that you will enjoy our selection of routes and that you will find the right cycle tour for you and your requirements.

If you have any questions or queries about the route or any other concerns, please contact our reception!

Saalachspitz

  • Starting point // Wals - Siezenheim
  • Starting point: Wals 405 m
  • Total travelling time: 1.5 hours
  • Total route length: 20 km

You start your cycle tour in Grünau along the Saalach. Along the Saalach, the cycle path leads downstream to the city of Salzburg. You follow the cycle path to the Saalachspitz, where the Saalach and Salzach rivers meet. The idyllic riverbank invites you to take a short break. If you continue towards the city centre for about a kilometre, you will pass the Salzachsee lake. The bathing lake is ideal for cooling off. From here, the route returns to the original cycle path along the Saalach back to the starting point. However, if you continue along the Salzach, you reach the Mozart city of Salzburg. Once you arrive at Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz, push your bike through the world-famous Getreidegasse to reach the Salzburg Festival (Hofstallgasse). From there, the cycle path takes you back to Wals-Siezenheim.

  • Starting point: Wals 405 m
  • Total travelling time: 1 hour

At the crossroads at the Posch garden centre, cross the main road and cycle along the municipal road to Laschensky. At the Laschenskyhof farm, turn left until the junction to the right into the Glansiedlung housing estate. Cycle directly to the Glan (stream) and cross the bridge. Once you have crossed the bridge, immediately turn left and cycle along the cycle path to the Stiegl brewery in Salzburg. Shortly after the Stiegl brewery you come to a crossroads, which you cross and continue straight ahead until you come to the cycle lane marked on the right. Continue along Maxglaner Hauptstraße until you reach the Neutor. At the traffic lights after Neutor, turn right into Hofstallgasse, where you can park your bike in several places. Return along the same route!

Lake Thumsee with bathing facilities

  • Starting point // Wals - Siezenheim
  • Starting point: Wals 432 m
  • Total travelling time: 2.5 hours
  • Total route length: 32 km

You start the tour in Wals - Siezenheim in the direction of Grünau to the Saalach. Here you cross the Grünau footbridge and turn left towards Hammerau. Approx. 150m after the railway tracks, the cycle path leads left along the road towards Pidinger Au. Shortly before the tracks, the salt trade route continues after the gravel road until you cross a small stream just before the motorway bridge. This path takes you through the Pidinger Au to the Staufenbrücke bridge. Here you follow the cycle path upstream on the right-hand side as far as Nonn. From here it is a short downhill stretch to Karlstein, where you join the cycle path to Lake Thumsee. Another 2 km uphill along the cycle path and you have reached your destination. You can either return via the same route or take the cycle path to Bad Reichenhall. At the Saalach bridge, the cycle path leads downstream through the Marzoller Au to Schwarzbach. From here, take the cycle path along the B21 back to your starting point.

Teisenberg Stoisser Alm

  • Starting point: Wals - Siezenheim 429 m
  • Destination: Stoißeralm 1269 m

  • Total cycling time: 4 hours
  • Total route length: 47 km

Follow this road and after 100 metres you will pass a wood processing company on the left. Then cross a bridge along the still tarmac road. After a while, the road changes into a good farm track. The route continues slightly uphill through the forest. The river Ache flows to our right. From the cattle gate onwards, the last ascent is quite demanding in terms of fitness.
